Important Update (09/28/2020)

To our Gusto Famiglia,

During these challenging times, we believe transparency is the only way forward. We are saddened to announce that one of our team members at Gusto 101 has tested positive for COVID-19. This team member, who’s last shift at Gusto 101 was September 26, went to get tested out as a precaution after being advised that they may have come in contact with someone who is COVID-19 positive and is currently quarantined at home. While not mandatory, we have immediately closed our restaurant until further notice as our guest and team member safety will always be number one. During this time, we are taking the following action: 

  • Gusto 101 will be professionally sanitized to eradicate the possibility of any surface contamination

  • The full team at Gusto 101 is in self-isolation

  • Contact tracing details have been shared with Toronto Public Health and those who they deem to be at-risk, will be contacted

  • All reservations for the next days will be rescheduled or canceled 

We are optimistic that this is an isolated case as no other team members are experiencing symptoms and rigorous sanitation, social distancing, and mask-wearing procedures were followed. We will only reopen when we feel it is safe to do so.

- Tuesday September 22 - evening shift

Was this team member symptomatic? 

The team member displayed no symptoms consistent with COVID-19 however immediately self-isolated and got tested after being advised they they may have come in contact with someone outside of the restaurant who has tested positive for COVID-19.

Will everyone who was at Gusto 101 on the same day as this team member be contacted? 

Not neccessarily. We have passed over all encrypted guest data to Toronto Public Health who will be conducting an investigation on who would be at-risk for COVID-19 based on a variety of factors. We are putting our trust in the very capable hands of our public health authorities who will spearhead the contact tracing for this case. 

Should I get tested for COVID-19? 

Unless advised to you by Toronto Public Health or a licesned medical practicioner, you are not required to get tested. That being said, we do encourage anyone who feels symptomatic or is concerned with possible COVID-19 exposure to get tested as a precautionary measure.

Our Safety Commitment

Safety has always been a top priority for us, but now we’ve upped our health & safety game even more. This is our commitment to you.

Keeping it Clean

  • We deep cleaned our entire space - this includes each and every room, product, surface, and piece of furniture

  • Before each and every service, we disinfect all of our surfaces and seating, plus in between each guest seating so you can feel safe before even sitting down

  • Anything that cannot be sanitized between uses, will be tossed away

  • We are using digital menus which can be easily accessed via the QR code on your table. Laminated menus are also available upon request.

Our Team Members

  • All of our team members are required to wear masks or protective shields in our space

  • Our team members are asked to stay home if they are feeling ill or do not feel well enough to come into our space

  • All team members who come back to work are are required to report any known contact any COVID-19 cases

  • Each person who comes back to work has a clean bill of health and is required to complete additional training on maintaining a safe workplace

Inside Our Restaurant

  • We are limiting our guest capacity to support social distancing - you may see our tables are spaced out or not available for seating

  • Prioritizing seating on our patios and outdoor spaces

  • Guests will be required to wear masks indoors until their food arrives at the table

  • Guests must wear a mask indoors when leaving the table

  • There are sanitizing stations at each entrance for guest and team members to use

  • All guests will be required to check-in to better monitor each person who comes in and out of the space for contact tracing purposes
